Step-by-Step Cooking Method

1

Step 1

~5 mins

In a small saucepan, heat milk with ghee on medium heat. Whisk in Lakadong turmeric, crushed black pepper, cardamom, and ginger powder.

Chef Note: Piperine in black pepper increases turmeric curcumin absorption by up to 2,000%. Ghee provides the necessary lipid carrier.
2

Step 2

~5 mins

Simmer gently on low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally with a small whisk so spices infuse thoroughly.

3

Step 3

~2 mins

Turn off heat, let cool to warm drinking temperature, then stir in raw honey. Garnish with saffron strands and serve.

Chef Note: Never boil raw honey; always add it when the drink is comfortably warm.
The AAXOL Spice Golden Rule

Never Overheat Ground Aromatics

Whole spices (like cumin, mustard, cardamom) thrive in sizzling oil to crackle their essential oil vesicles. Stone-ground powders should be added only after onions/tomatoes are softened, or mixed with a dash of water to avoid scorching the delicate volatile flavour compounds.
